What We Do
Everyone deserves stigma-free sexual and reproductive healthcare. We expand access, support a strong clinic network, and advocate for bold policy change — three interconnected strategies driving our mission for reproductive freedom for all.

Our work is grounded in three powerful strategies: we expand access to high-quality, person-centered sexual and reproductive healthcare — ensuring people have the freedom to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures. We power a network of clinics with the funding, training, and support they need to deliver care without stigma or barriers. And we advocate for bold, systemic policy change — building power alongside communities to protect care, dismantle obstacles, and advance reproductive freedom for all.
These strategies are not separate — they’re deeply interconnected, and together, they form the foundation of everything we do.
Our Work
For more than 40 years, we’ve been at the forefront of the efforts to expand access to sexual and reproductive healthcare in Missouri and throughout the Midwest. We’ve done this through a variety of programs and initiatives including Title X, The Right Time, and Free EC.
What We Do
Here’s how we’re working to expand reproductive freedom.
Title X
Title X (Title Ten) is the nation’s only dedicated source of federal funding for family planning services — and a cornerstone of reproductive healthcare access. Created in 1970 with strong bipartisan support, Title X ensures that millions of people — especially those who are low-income or uninsured — can get the confidential, high-quality care they need to protect their health and plan their futures.
Administered by the Office of Population Affairs (OPA), the national Title X network reaches nearly 4 million teens and adults each year.
Services Available Through Title X Include:
Annual wellness exams
Birth control counseling and supplies
Breast and cervical cancer screenings
Preconception counseling and basic infertility services
Pregnancy testing and counseling
Sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, screenings, treatment
Beacon is proud to lead the Title X network in Missouri and Oklahoma — ensuring care is accessible, inclusive, and grounded in trust.
The Right Time
At Beacon, we believe everyone should have the freedom to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant. The Right Time is how we turn that belief into action.
Through The Right Time, we’re improving access to contraception by breaking down cost barriers, providing trusted information, and supporting care that’s culturally-responsive and person-centered. No matter someone’s income, insurance status, or zip code, they deserve access to the tools and support they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
Led by Beacon and powered by Missouri Foundation for Health, The Right Time is about more than preventing unintended pregnancy — it’s about creating real options and expanding opportunity.
In 2024 alone, Beacon’s Title X program and The Right Time initiative reached more than 45,000 clients across Missouri and Oklahoma with high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services.
Free EC
Free EC is a statewide initiative led by Beacon Reproductive Health Network to expand access to emergency contraception (EC) across Missouri — quickly, confidentially, and at no cost. Launched in June 2023, the project was created to meet urgent needs, combat misinformation, and ensure everyone has the freedom to prevent pregnancy on their own terms.
Through direct mail and trusted community partners, Free EC delivers kits that include emergency contraception (EC), safer sex supplies like condoms, and clear, judgment-free healthcare information. Since launch, the demand has far outpaced expectations — demonstrating just how critical accessible EC is to individuals and communities across the state.
Free EC is about more than a pill. It’s about power, knowledge, and control. By combining access with education, we’re helping Missourians cut through the noise, understand their options, and get the care they need.
